Smarter Conditional Splits for Your Workflows

Conditional Splits in Send just got smarter. We’ve streamlined the way you build automation branches with cleaner visuals, default Yes/No paths, and the flexibility to add steps only where you need them. You can leave paths empty to end a workflow, or build them out with emails, delays, tags, and more — all while ensuring every node is defined before launch. The result? Less clutter, fewer errors, and a faster way to create logic that works exactly the way you do."

Automation is only as powerful as it is clear — and we just made conditional logic in Send even easier to build and follow.
With the latest improvement to Conditional Splits, you now get a cleaner, more intuitive experience when creating branches in your automation workflows. Whether you’re customizing based on shopper behavior, purchase history, or engagement, you’ll have more control and fewer chances to get stuck.

What’s improved?

Yes/No Paths by Default
Every time you add a conditional split, it now creates only two arcs — Yes and No — keeping things clean and focused.

Add What You Need
Use the + sign on each arc to add any valid next step — an email, a delay, a tag, or more conditions. You decide the flow.

Cleaner Visuals
If you’re not ready to define both paths, that’s fine — you can leave an arc empty, and it will simply lead to an End Workflow tag.

Submission Checks
Workflows can’t be submitted unless each node is defined — but partial paths (arcs) can still lead to an end tag, giving you flexibility without breaking logic.

Why it matters

We know building automations can get messy fast. These updates are all about giving you more clarity, fewer errors, and a smoother experience from idea to launch.

It’s now easier to visualize, test, and build conditional logic that works the way you do.
